Prince Dapo Abiodun

The present administration in the State led by Prince Dapo Abiodun has assured of its continued collaboration with voluntary and Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) in the State, as part of its stride to develop, re-orientate and disseminate government’s activities and programmes to the people.

           The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Youth and Sports, Mr. Peter Kolawole Fagbohun, said this while receiving the  Nigeria Girl Guides Association  Ogun State Branch, during the presentation and introduction of the association’s Ambassador, Kemi Daniel to the State Government, held at the Ministry’s Conference Room , MKO International Stadium, Kuto, Abeokuta.

          The Permanent Secretary who was represented by the Director of Administration and Supply in the Ministry, Mr. Adetunji Kanimodo , assured that the present administration has put in place all necessary logistics to assist NGOs and voluntary organisations, without any sentiment.

          He congratulated the organisation for the outstanding performance on  girl-child education and gender issues, noting that its activities had gone a long way in find lasting solutions to problems of gender discrimination, urging other organisations to emulate the NGO.

          ”Let me at this juncture on behalf of the State government congratulate our Ambassador, Kemi Daniel, on her successful six months programme at Rwanda. You made us proud in Ogun State and Nigeria as a country and I want to implore you to continue to be good ambassador to others in your category”, he said.

          Earlier in her remarks, the Deputy National Chief Commissioner, Mrs Racheal Thomas, said the organisation was delighted to welcome and introduce to the State government, Kemi Daniel, a World Association of Girls Guide and Girls Scout (WAGGGS YES) Ambassador, who just completed an exchange programme in Rwanda.

          Mrs. Thomas explained that the programme which started in 2014 with the first exchange in 2015 had given opportunity to 161 young women, between age 18 to 25years from member Organisations of WAGGGS  in Africa and  Pacific Asia to stay in another country for six months.
