The Omola of Imala-land, Oba Moses A.A. Olabode has told the embattled Oba-elect of Olorunda, mr Segun Ogunsola to stop parading him self as Oba of Olorunda, saying that he has been rejected
He also claimed that Mr Ogunsola has illegally and forcefully acquired people’s lands to make office for the Nigeria Civil Defence Corps at Olorunda.
The monarch who disclosed this during a press conference held in Olorunda, Abeokuta Ogun State maintained that the embattled king who was one of the 75 Obas installed by the past immediate Administration of Senator Ibikunle Amosun has been rejected by the current government
He said, ” It has come to our notice the incessant and unrelenting illegal activities of Mr Segun Ogunsola Phillips still parading himself as Oba of Olorunda in the recent times. We have on record his illegal claims of land and properties belonging to others including government properties, the most recent is the maternity center at Olorunda, the family planning unit of it, which he has illegally and forcefully acquired to make it an office for the Nigeria Civil Defence Corps at Olorunda as well as purporting to prepare a land around it for market.
”It has an established fact that he intends to illegally commission these two facilities on Friday 25 October 2019. Invitations have been issued out, in which he claimed to have invited two traditional rulers outside our area to come and commission these two facilities for him.
”He has been warned and ordered by the government through the ministry of local Government and chieftaincy affair not to parade himself as Baale Of Olorunda but he refused ”
He said that Mr Segun is Ogunsola is not an indigene of Olorunda and according to the customs and tradition of the land he cannot be a baale talkless of an Oba.
The monarch therefore called on the state government and all appropriate law enforcement agents to curb the excesses of Mr Segun Ogunsola Phillips without further delay.
”We will ensure that our people do not react violently to checkmate him inspite of all the provocations.”
