A beauty queen who won the last edition of Miss Aiyepe 2019/2020, Imoleayo Damilola, few weeks back, embarked on the second edition of her pet project, ‘Kick Out Rape And Sexual Abuse Awareness Programme’.

The project which was held at Aiyepe Comprehensive High School, Aiyepe-Ijebu in Odogbolu local government area of Ogun State, was attended by over 185 students and 60 other youths from the society.

The programme was organized to sensitise the students about the hazards of rape and other sexual abuses that are now becoming rampant in the society.

Miss Imoleayo noted that, regrettably, young people in the society were not sensitised early enough of sexual abuse, thereby contributing to the spread of the menace.

According to her; It is very important for relevant authorities to always enlighten young people on the implications of all sort of sexual abuse in order for them to keep away from it.’

Sexual abuses have become rampant in our society today because there is low awareness about the dangers of indulging in the illicit sex, she added.

The Divisional Police Officer of Odogbolu local government, CSP Akintunde Saminu Ajani; Barr. Odunayo Lawal; Miss Abimbola Adeona and Mrs Bukola Oshileye were some of the speakers at the event.
